Belfast based Rainbow Telecom, Northern Ireland’s largest independent telecommunications provider has purchased the mobile phone specialist Red Sky Communications.
The deal, for an undisclosed figure, will see Red Sky re-brand its Ballymena office as Rainbow Mobile, instantly expanding Rainbow’s workforce by 25% bringing the total employed to 50 at its two sites.
In doing so Rainbow has announced a mobile offering that will surprise its competitors and prove highly attractive to the business community. Rainbow Mobile is offering free calls between business landlines and mobiles and vice versa, on any network and no matter how many mobiles your company operates.
It’s bullish propositions such as these that the business community has come to expect from Rainbow since its creation 10 years ago.

At the launch of the free mobile offer is Rainbow Mobile Director John Glackin, Rainbow co-founder Eric Carson, and Rainbow Mobile Director Richard Gillespie
“Our customers wanted all their communications under one roof and we’d been looking for an opportunity to enter the mobile market. We were impressed with the expertise and level of customer service at Red Sky, virtues that are the mainstay of our own operations.
“Unlike our competitors who only propose free mobile calls on one network, Rainbow has enhanced the offer to take in Vodafone, Orange, 3, O2, and T-Mobile, in a no catch deal.
“We are certain that the business community will respond positively to this offer and news of our further expansion.”
